The HUGE Business and Investment Council, recently reaffirmed its commitment to massive job creation and the promotion of sustainable developmentthroughout the Northern Triangle region of Central America.
During HUGE’s panel at the Foro Latinoamericano de Inversion de Impacto – or Latin American Impact Investment Forum in Honduras, business leaders from across the region provided examples of how their significant investments are contributing to the improvement of people’s lives and livelihoods. Four HUGE Founders discussed a wide variety of investment projects and initiatives togenerate social transformation in the Northern Triangle of Central America.
Founders and Sponsors of the HUGE Business & Investment Council, alongside energy experts from the private and public sectors of the United States, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, have recently explored strategies for harnessing a variety of energy options throughout the region, with a particular focus on natural gas, CNG, and LNG. They have also discussed the importance of investing in renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and pump storage, and improving energy integration and regional transportation efforts. Energy is essential for economic growth, manufacturing, nearshoring, and job creation.It is also crucial for the creation of the “American Dream at home” in the Northern Triangle.
The formal entry of El Salvador to the Customs Union with Honduras and Guatemala marks a historic step forward for regional integration and economic development among the countries of Northern Central America. The event was announced on December 6 at a ceremony at the newly opened El Amatillo Integrated Border Post (IBP) in El Salvador. This landmark initiative promises to significantly enhance regional trade, attract new investments and nearshoring opportunities. It officially commenced operations on December 7, 2023, and is poised to streamline the flow of goods and people between El Salvador, Honduras, and other regional countries.
