Today, Greg Huger, the Executive Director of ThinkHUGE, participated in AmCham Honduras’ virtual Nearshoring Conference titled “Strategies and Best Practices for the Implementation of Nearshoring in Honduras and the Region.” Hosted by HUGE Founder and AmCham President Claudia Kattan-Jordan, the event featured several other speakers including Richard Feinberg of the Brookings Institute, Joe Lopez-Gallegos of Crowley, Neil Herrington of the US Chamber of Commerce and Kinnon Scott of the World Bank. During the conference, Huger discussed ThinkHUGE’s mission, current initiatives, and future goals. He emphasized that nearshoring is an opportunity for the Western Hemisphere to create new jobs and allow people to achieve the American Dream without leaving their home countries. Huger also encouraged countries in the region, such as Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, to take full advantage of this opportunity. As part of its commitment to the nearshoring equation, HUGE is supporting the toy industry in sourcing from the Northern Triangle, which will help diversify their supply chains. Huger stressed that the success of this initiative depends on the collaboration of governments, the private sector, and civil society in Honduras, the USA, Guatemala, and El Salvador.
