Government, private sector, and civil society leaders gathered in Guatemala City to discuss social and environmental benefits derived from private investment with a focus on the transformative impact of Founders in HUGE countries.

The event demonstrated how private investments are driving development and sustainability in communities, while also fostering collaboration across sectors, with the ultimate goal of achieving sustainable economic growth and expanding access to opportunities for citizens of the Northern Triangle, helping them to achieve the “American dream at home.”

Founder companies also highlighted how these initiatives have strengthened their company culture. The success stories that were shared truly demonstrate the ability of the private sector to greatly improve the living conditions for thousands of Northern Triangle citizens.

ThinkHUGE hosted a virtual discussion on energy integration within the Northern Triangle. The agenda included discussions on the importance of clean and reliable energy sources for the region’s development, as well as the need for improved energy integration and transportation infrastructure. Our main objective is to enhance the investment landscape in the Northern Triangle by upgrading energy infrastructure and diversification, ultimately fostering economic growth and catalyzing social change in the region.

Attracting investment is crucial for economic growth in our region. HUGE is grateful to FOROS TSI for inviting us to discussing our strategy. Executive Director Greg Huger emphasized boosting positive visibility, consistent regulations, and investing in workforce development.

The MIT Latin America Business Conference brought together leaders and changemakers from the region. A key topic was how to use new financial technologies to improve access to banking, especially for underserved populations. HUGE’s Reina Irene Mejía highlighted the challenges and opportunities of “leapfrogging” traditional banking systems in Latin America. She also described initiatives by HUGE and its partner banks to make financial services more accessible across Central America.

Guatemalan steel manufacturer Corporación AG, a Founder of HUGE, recently celebrated its 70th anniversary. HUGE recognizes AG’s long history, commitment to sustainability, and positive influence in the Northern Triangle region. AG prioritizes sustainability, aligning with UN goals to improve lives by 2028 through education, waste management, and poverty reduction programs. HUGE congratulates AG on their achievements and looks forward to their continued success.

A HUGE congratulations to our Founder, Grupo Pantaleon and its real estate division, Spectrum on the groundbreaking of Synergy Industrial Park in Escuintla, Guatemala. The park offers tailored industrial solutions with a focus on efficiency and flexibility, aiming to create sustainable jobs and expand economic opportunities in the Northern Triangle. This visionary project is also expected to set new standards in the region’s industrial park sector.

Central American textile and apparel leaders met in Washington DC to discuss a 5-year plan for the industry’s growth. ThinkHUGE Founders participated, emphasizing job creation and workforce development. Key discussion points included increasing production within the region, sourcing materials locally, improving infrastructure and trade and attracting investment. Participants were encouraged by the US government’s support and look forward to collaborating for industry growth.
