According to a Sourcing Journal article, Target and Columbia Sportswear have agreed to majorly increase their spending in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras this year, creating more than 6,900 jobs in the region over the next five years. Other companies like Nextil and Protela-Colombia are investing in the construction of facilities to supply and produce fabric and garments in the region creating another 4,000 jobs. Finally, HUGE Founder Intradeco has acquired competitor Indera Mills, who as a result will have access to Intradeco’s production capabilities in the Northern Triangle countries. Read the full article here.
