On June 9th, an agreement for the operational start of the El Salvador Aerocluster was signed by the Government of Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, members of the private sector and academia, and HUGE Founder Edwin Escobar, the CEO of Grupo Aristos. The signing ceremony was attended by Federico Aniliker López, President of CEPA, Adriana Mira, Vice Minister of Foreign Relations, and Miguel Kattan, Secretary of Commerce and Investment. During the signing, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude to all participants for their interest in collaborating to promote the sector’s development, generating local and foreign investment, and enhancing the country’s competitiveness on a global scale. According to the Vice Minister, the aeronautical industry is essential under President Bukele’s management, which is why the San Salvador airport has been expanded with the creation of a new terminal. The President of CEPA explained that the agreement aims to position El Salvador as a benchmark in aeronautics by promoting and contributing strategically and jointly to the growth and development of the country’s aeronautical and aerospace services sector. The Aerocluster comprises of significant companies from the public and private sectors and academies, nationally and internationally recognized for their outstanding experience in the aeronautical industry.
“The objective is to work together and promote the aeronautical and aerospace industry and therefore the economic growth and prosperity of El Salvador”, said HUGE Founder and CEO of Grupo Aristos, Edwin Escobar. “The aviation and aeronautical industry has been a driver of the global economy, it has shortened distances, time and has removed geographical barriers.”
